I am not surprised things have turned out the way they have, The country really hasn't moved forwards since 2008, when blair and brown were in. If anything we have gone backwards, that's how I see it. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Yolo, the biggest thing that has caused the proceedings to be not so quite clear cut is that corbyn has promised all the soppy students that they can go to university and do Censored all for 3 years for free, so in an unprecedented move the students have got off their lazy arses and gone to vote, probably on the way to the pub!

And still failed. Laughing But I agree with your statements.
If they pay for it themselves, or parents choose to I have no issue with that.

However, you cannot give £7k or what ever it is for 3 years or so to every under 25 in the country.

It was a failed experiment by labour to try and gain votes, now you have a generation that feel they are too clever. (70% or so of them.)
To do any work at all.

I know a few, that done it purely to get the money, avoid work.
And definitely "ah well, s'okay I don't ever have to pay it back".

As I said, the original system worked pay for it no problems.
But no freebies.

I'm glad myself to be in that 30% that has actually worked and continues to do so much like nearly all members here.
I have not taken anything out of the country at all, positively the opposite.

I don't see why I should pay and work, whist others had free cash to do f all.
And revel in not paying anything, but still they don't get the rich paying jobs they often dream of.

Many in my opinion are not really that clever either, hence why they cannot get good jobs.

I'll concede that most of the best performers are privately educated.

Hard work should be rewarded who ever you are, no freebies for nothing for anyone.
Those that need help haven't had it, like the elderly and disabled and there has still been free loaders around.

I think those that have no intention of paying for their freebie xx years should be paying it back monthly regardless of wage.
I'm very happy. 🇬🇧 âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

+1 to that Mo and I was an expat working in Dubai for 4 years.

I suggest you read up on free graduate level education, it does continue to exist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_education

I voted Labour because I liked the way that JC vision was akin to the Nordic model: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_model don't let them tell you the things he was promising are unattainable, okay maybe the free puppies are unattainable but the majority of his pledges are attainable.

May wants to turn the UK into the USA model, which is self destructive. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

State education in the UK is basically free of fees and charges up to the age of 16/18.

Now which government actually introduced university tuition fees in the U.K.? Yes a Labour government! J Corbyn has been reported as apologising for the Labour government introducing the University tuition fee.

Now who basically had a major detrimental effect on higher education in the UK?

Yes Tony Blair of the Labour Party by basically stating that 50% of kids should go to university. Why? Basically he wanted to reduce the youth unemployment figures and by conning the young into going to university youth unemployment figures were reduced.

This led to the sad demise of the polytechnic and tech college system in the U.K. Which was extremely good at turning out skilled tradespeople. Instead of turning out skilled tradespeople the polys become 'universities' many offering what has become know as ' mickeymouse degrees'. These students are leaving their studies behind with a debt and a 'degree' which no one wants as an employer

Before Blair university students were 10-20% of the age range and got into university on academic merit.

The collage system is alive and well, we have 15+ apprentices working in our machine shops and attending collage in Shropshire, we had allot more apply (75+).

Of those apprentices there are 5+ trainee engineers working 3 days and 2 days at university.

Our Unite union leader did a presentation on the state of collage based apprenticeship, he seemed enthusiastic about its condition. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

Ultimately the country has got what it voted for. That there were insufficient people voting one way or another is by the by we have what we asked for even if it is not necessarily what we think we wanted. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

The South West is completely different to Yorkshire, there is a massive amount of industrial heritage including textiles, clothing, printing, engineering....etc there. The south west is much more orientated around mining from what I know?

We are fools!

Why, because we go with cards in our hand to register to vote, and we all think it will make a difference it does not; I am sixty five I have been voting since I was eighteen and have voted in many a general elections
One thing I have learned and I wish it was not so, but in all my lifetime it has not changed.

Because we vote for people who make promises they never have to deliver. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Bristol was built on slavery many moons ago. (Thank goodness, the past.)
Bristol now is typically a commercial hub, the docks, courier services etc and much much more.

Somerset, like Hereford is highly well known for Cider production.
Cheese production, and arable food.

Devon is also much the same. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸
