Maybe worth calling 101 to report. They should be able to record it and generate a crime number.

Its definitely an offence under the road traffic act, any road, car park etc that has public access.
My daughter had a knock on the door one evening to find a copper standing there saying it had been reported to them that she had hit someone's car in a car park and driven away.
She had brushed this car (it was a multi storey, he was parked at the top of the turn ramp and she, like most modern drivers decided that the steering wheel only goes one turn) however when they viewed the cctv again they saw that she had stopped and checked for any damage and there was none, she insisted they watch the cctv recoding a bit longer, sure enough 10 mins later another car came up the ramp and smacked straight in to him!!
Copper was a bit confused anyway as there was absolutely no damage on daughters car!

Anyway, what I'm saying is report it again and don't take no for an answer! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

Thanks guys

1. I have just called the Police again and pushed a bit harder - they were great! taken all details and now I have an appointment to see them. Log reference in my possession Thumbs Up
2. Mailed DVLA to see if they will give me the details of the owner as well as per Inigo's recommendation

Let's see how we go Smile Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Just a Quickie for all about Protected NCD

Yes your NCD is usually protected for 2 claims in 5 years.

BUT and here is the rub ! Your premium is not protected and go's up. I had Storm damage to a van, claimed was told it was an act of God so could not claim of the buildings owner ( roof tiles blew off onto parked van)
Kept my NCD but my premium nearly doubled

There is potentially one other answer.
Once you have the address/ details phone the Company up that owns the vehicle & ask for the Transport manager.
Explain what happened & they may settle outside their own insurance because they may have a high excess on their fleet.
You will need to know how much it will cost to repair your vehicle.
Transport managers take a dim view of drivers not reporting accidents.
I had a similar incident where a vehicle entered my Estate & smashed one of my gate posts & left without reporting to anyone.
We caught the vehicle on cctv & they rolled over - £5.5k to fix the damage May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful.
