And tomorrow became today. What will the result be? Will it be a rerun of 87 and the electorate sobering up in time to reject the left? I wonder what threshold May set to count this election as a success - a 50 seat majority? She hasn't run a stellar campaign and unsurprisingly Corbyn has seemed very natural banging on about the same stuff he has been banging on about for years. We should give thanks to Diane Abbott for providing some light relief, it is a shame she has exited stage right. I wonder how the retreads will get on, Cable, McVey and co?
Strong and stable are perhaps qualities to admire in a horse. I hope the PR team weren't paid too much for that chuff. Regardless of persuasion make the effort to vote  Only then can you moan about the outcome  |

Must admit, I though Vote early, Vote often was from a film or something like West Wing. Turns out to be much more interesting: Source of "Vote Early and Often" The cynical phrases "Vote early -- and often" and "Vote early -- and vote often" are variously attributed to three different Chicagoans: Al Capone, the famous gangster; Richard J. Daley, mayor from 1955 to 1976; and William Hale Thompson, mayor from 1915-1923 and 1931-1935. All three were notorious for their corruption and their manipulation of the democratic process. It is most likely that Thompson invented the phrase, and Capone and Daley later repeated it. |
