I've always fancied driving to Cape Town, but with young kids not sure how safe that would be! Sounds like you've made you decision to me... Ship to Australia and explore!

Driving to Cape Town could be dangerous, but if I had the chance I would ship my Landy to Cape Town and explore South Africa, Namibia and Botswana

Have thought about Cape Town in the past but as you say could be dangerous.
The oz trip would not be without its issues especially with the young but at least shouldn't have to deal with political unrest etc. Planning is key and need to start if it's going to happen |
