Military-style door protection?
Hey guys, new here. Wanted to see if anyone had a source for these protection panels? I really like the look of them, but I understand some will think they are a bit much. Looking for that military look.

Hi Fast5,
I hope you're feeling better soon.
Please sit down for 5 minutes and rest.
Then have a good think about if it's really a good idea to fix that crap to any vehicle.
Thumbs Up

Hi DSC,

If it was a joke I was looking for, I'd follow you into the bathroom and watch you take a leak. Embarassed

Is this forum a bunch of purists or what? Let's all drive stock defenders, that should be fun.

I suppose you always try these as well?

Thanks guys. This is for a movie that we are producing, which is why we desperately need the supplier information if at all possible.

Appreciate everyone's suggestions. Still appears to be from another source...

Any other thoughts?

Get some made locally, not exactly difficult to bend up some thin metal and get holes punched in it. I can't see them being available "retail", not sure they're legal in the UK, having a cheese grater bolted to the side of the vehicle, they must be a nightmare to clean ! http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

That rough parts sell similar cheese grater products as retail.

But i'd agree it's probably not too difficult to make something up that looks similar. If it's for a film prop, then how long does it have to last? Could they be made from plastic or something?

We have a fabricator that is presently tied up with other film props, so I wanted to purchase these direct. They don't necessarily have to be durable. Vehicle is going to get rolled at the end of the scene anyway.

The owner of the vehicle was on this forum, W5TCR, you may be still able to contact him with a PM.
His thread,
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic41543.html

He said the vehicle was built by Far Corners, in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
http://farcorners.co.uk
They apparently either manufacture or supply sheet metal products as part of their business. They may have made, or know who supplied, the "protection".
From their web site:
"We have designed a variety of canopies and camper style bodies for Defenders, body armour, bespoke overland vehicle modifications and more. We can design and fabricate pretty much anything – the crazier your idea, the more fun we will have turning it into reality!"

Good luck with finding what you want.
