Nothing myself, but a neighbour has one from new for 3 years and has just swapped his wife's scenic 'allroad?) for a brand new one.
So they like them. Other collegues have the octavias and alike and rate them also. Check the lease deals also as some cracking deals for a new one if you don't do many miles.. |

Skoda today simply means VW quality, and not much wrong with that. The 2.0 tdi 140 hp is a great engine and so is the dsg box. And then this honorary gent here below had not much bad to say about it either.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

SWMBO has had one for about 18 months and it is a cracking little car (well, actually not that little). It seems to be very well made, very well and imaginatively thought out (the flexibility in the seating is especially good), and comfortable and pleasant to drive.
The only problem she's had is that the rear wiper regularly seems to get a mind of its own, and fails to park in the right place, does partial wipes, etc (just like a Landrover really). It is on its second one already, with another to come soon. However, this is really a very minor issue and not a problem. It doesn't leak, doesn't rattle, is reliable, warm, comfortable, nippy, has an excellent 'infotainment' thingy, is equipped to a high level (revering camera and whatnot), and is economical! A very odd experience to a die-hard Defenderist such as myself! |

If and it's a big if we do get one it will be joining a roomster as we all like that, which is part of the reasons for looking at one. The other alternative is a previous model grand vitara but that doesn't tow as much. Thanks for the advice. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
