They do look nice - I understand the want...
But for that money I don't get the need - I'll stick to a quick push with my gloved hand for a little longer! Cool

You can get them for £20-£30 second hand if you are lucky from auto jumbles, E-Bay etc. Try military & LR parts suppliers also, you should be able to track one down somewhere Thumbs Up

There are a few places to get the snow cover in the UK, Blanchard's, Ebay and Porny at IRB to name a few. They are all made from aluminium and are either bare metal or painted green ( ex mod),which then means you have to paint them or get them powder coated. I believe Porny offers a powder coated version? but I don't know the price. The difference with the Entreq version is that they use Stainless steel which is then powder coated and delivered to you finished with all the fittings ready to go straight onto your Landy.

They are not just for keeping the heater intake vent clear of snow. They also keep out water and muck from being drawn into the heater box and stops leaves clogging the vent up. Thumbs Up

Don't get me wrong - I think they look like a great product, and there's lots of kit from the manufacturer that I would like to get for my LR, and happily pay their prices for... always happy to pay extra for quality.

It's just ironic that personally, out of all the cars I've owned, LRs design of heater intake is the only one I've not had to clear leaves & debris from, even though it looks exposed and at risk from blockage (the fact it is exposed prolly means stuff blows off it). The intakes positioned under the wipers/bonnet on our 'normal' cars are the ones I routinely have to clear!

But like I say, if you park under trees, live in snowy climes, or just plain want them, whatever - why not? Thumbs Up

I don't know about the others, but the genuine ones and the military ones (including the one I bought from Blanchards) are not aluminium, they are mild steel with a zinc plate and yellow passivate (ZP&P) finish.

I had intended to drop mine in for powder coating but the snow came before I did so, so it was an etch primer and black paint finish on for me.

Hi all
I've just spent about 2o mins fighting to get pics. into the gallery (Whoopee) just to show you guys what I had made for me because I was sick of the extra condensation from snow and rain getting into my cabin from the heating.
Now all I have to do is work out how to get them on here?

I too have thought about the mil. sec. hats but I realised that they would not be allowed here in CH.
So I got some made for me that dont extend over the side of the wing and dont look like an elephants trunk over the side.

Lorryman, they look great Thumbs Up

And youve helped me make my mind up, didnt know whether to spray my snow cover black or bonatti grey to match the body colour. I also have a snorkle so having a black snow cover balances things out nicely Thumbs Up
