It is a walk in the park for anyone who is reasonably fit. Just make sure you have plenty to drink during the climb and you will love it.

I have done this climb many times and it is brilliant, when you get to the top the feeling of achievement will stay with you forever.

Have a look at my video and you will know.
Let us know how much you enjoyed it when you reach the top because you will of that I can promise.

A climb up Snowdon via the Pyg track starting at Pen y Pass, get there early as the car park is quite small.

The National Trust have destroyed the Pyg Track. It used to be a nice scramble with a bit of care needed in places. Now, thanks to tons of imported gravel and a load of explosives, you can push a baby buggy up it.

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

OK thanks all! Thumbs Up

The pyg track does not include crib Goch or does it...?
I'm not a professional so it's probably best if I don't do crib Goch!

No, the Pyg Track goes round and below Crib Goch.

Hello arran jones

6 main routes up...

The Pyg Track is by far the easiest route... just a short 'scrabble' at the end on some loose scree
Difficulty 2-10 (Crib Goch 7/8-10...on a bad day turn back, get it wrong that would be it)

The Pyg Track in Summer (June >) can look like a 'motorway', with 200-300 people at the top,
1/2 with selfie sticks (horrible)

By far (IMO) the 'best' (picturesque) route is Watkin Path, longest route but, mostly gentle, well marked,
proper step 'climbing' towards the end (last 25%) far less people, parking at the start...fantastic day out.

Good Luck

As an inexperienced mountain walker/climber do not attempt Crib Groch it is not for novices.

To be fair the PYG and the Miners are fairly easy and are the most popular routes, though they are not the easiest especially when you get to the point below Garnedd Ugain as the zig zag scramble climb to reach the top of the crest ridge can be challenging for some. Plus the PYG is the busiest so you tend to join a crocodile line of people climbing to the crest. And the parking at Pen y Pass is a joke unless you arrive at the crack of dawn

I have climbed every route to the Snowdon summit many times and in my opinion the easiest is the Llanberis path though unfortunately this path is both the longest and most boring route.

My choice would be for the first time visit to the summit take either the Snowdon Ranger path or Rhyd Ddu Path, both are easy routes with great scenery plus parking is not a problem for both.

Have a look at a couple of my videos and then make your mind up which route is best for you.
