The job entails
STC3433 Kit-flange,Rear and one of these in stead as the kit seal will be unbranded unless you go for (LR) rear prop removed 9/16 AF ring spanner and or http://www.paddockspares.com/da1119-propsh...50gbp.html back off brake shoes 17mm open ended spanner remove brake drum may be healed in place with 8mm countersink screw drain transfer box oil remover 20mm nut from flange and remover rear flange remover old oil seal refit new oil seal down to its home on the shoulder (also run small amount of grease in the seal before fitting it) having removed [ 3/8UNF x 1 3/4 ]bolts from the old flange and fitted them to the new one with new mud shield or use new FRC3602 [ 3/8UNF x 1 3/4 ]bolts fit new drive flange felt washer, plane washer and nut tighten up nut (148Nm or 109 ft-lb ) 2.4 defender > 07 refill transfer box oil EP 80/90 clean brake shoes and assemble with brake cleaning or ( replace brake shoes ) replace brake drum and adjust shoes also then all is finished teat handbrake refit prop shaft new nuts NZ606041L [ UNF - 3/8 nylocks ] X 8 make shore transfer box breve pipe is not blocked have fun Next Last edited by dorsetsmith on 8th May 2017 8:08am. Just had a go at this and on removal of the handbrake drum found its bone dry inside.
Assuming the seal kit mentioned here isnt leaking I replaced the drum and reconnected the prop. So thing is, should I have replaced the seal or is it leaking from a different area? BTW if you are going to do this make sure you have some new 9/16 nyloc nuts ready because the old ones are a b*gg*r to get off and will be rounded. |

They're 3/8" UNF Nylocs.

Sorry yes of course 3/8" UNF. I used a 9/16 spanner and that was in my head

Perhaps look at the intermediate shaft seal? It is on the front of the T/box.
I too had a leaking T/box that was dripping onto the handbrake drum, but not inside. It was a box out job and ended up replacing the intermediate shaft also...
