Went to a vintage show today. Unfortunately the organisers assumed, incorrectly, that I was entering the LR88 when in point of fact my intention was to show the wife in the vintage class, Owing to this error the LR88 was placed between a Ford Mustang and a Ford Capri and in close proximity to a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. However during the course of the afternoon a lot of interest was shown the the LR88's chassis, body work and bulkhead. Had my original plan been adhered to and the wife placed between the Mustang and the Capri, I seriously doubt the her chassis, bodywork and bulkhead would have attracted as much interest. You can just about see the LR88 in some of the photos.
Anyway it was a nice afternoon, I got to drive 40 miles in the LR88 and all proceeds wet to a worthy cause, namely a centre to support those who have the tendency to self harm or who have suicidal tendencies. I think it is an AUSTIN. There will be someone more knowledgeable along later on I presume. I didn't note any details which I should have done. The wife only checks this if I'm typing and she looks over my shoulder. I made sure she was on the telephone when I posted the above 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It's an A30, the back window is the small one, the A35's back window was much bigger

Thanks’ for the pic of the A30 I grew up with that car although my family had the
Grey finish from Austin. Had the great Kent engine a really good work horse engine for such a little car. Does anybody recall the next model up which was the A35 that was the one with the bigger rear window. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |
