I'm sure they're not, I had a spare of the new style and Lorryman had a go at programming it to work with his 2009 110 and it wouldn't work with the 10AS fitted to his car.

you'll need the later Siemens alarm and separate receiver module to make it work. I have seen it done 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

From what i've read too, they don't work.
However i can't imagine it's too much effort to replace the main alarm module with the later alarm, providing it talks to the 2.4 engine ECU ok. The old Rover fobs are easy to get hold of, you can program used ones to the car and Land Rover still sell refurb kits for them for around a tenner. |

Do you know the part numbers? - I have a spare later alarm unit and some receivers but am having problems with communication between the two. As to why the new type remote will not work with the older alarm unit, the old one was a single radio frequency, the new remote hops frequencies - see http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic29498-15.html |

I haven't got the part numbers I'm afraid. The reason landrover changed alarm modules is that they stopped making the AS10 unit. I'm pretty sure the Siemens unit is backwards compatible to Td5 although don't quote me on that! 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

If this is the case, I don't think I will bother
Was only interested in making it happen if it was a case of programming the blip to the car Looks like it's a bit more involved than that! Anyone want to buy an unused defender blipper?? G My confidence has been writing cheques that my abilities can't cash for years. |
