replace the sealing ring on the pump
be gentle with the pipe clips when you take them off,you can buy a tool to help remove them. clean and vac any debris off before you start removing the old one the pump securing ring i often corroded, there is a plastic and metal one available fuel filter makes sense at the same time if you dont want to drop the tank you can use one of these to cut a hole on the flor looks neat and is easy to remove in future if you fit it with rivnuts http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/17267600200...amp;crdt=0 and finally make sure you get the correct pump as the depth of the pump varies with model |

Clean and vacuum any debris on the top of tank - definitely yes. And for the rest apply a bit of WD40 and clean with a rag. WD40 (or another thin oil) will stick the rest debris and lower their chance to fall down into the tank. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo
