Hi all,
I am after a reasonably cheap Defender 90 Hard Top, and I am on a strict Budget (A poor Student) A tdi engine would be excellent, and the chassis and bodywork must be reasonable condition. I will hopefully (Restricted moneywise) to upgrade it in the future to use it "properly off road" I'm looking for my FIRST of hopefully many Land Rovers. Thanks in Advance, Max |

I could use the quote:
"All my friends have got one" However they all have Discoverys, and after driving my dads friends 90, i have fallen in love. My budget is only about £2000 to £3000, i gotta get insurance then though which will probably cost moe than the vehicle itself I currently drive a Jazz, but the driving position, and feel to not match that of any Defender |

A Disco does not match a Defender though...
I like the being differnet, the simplicity of a Defender and the overall robustness. It's just a case of finding the right one for the price Its a waiting game haha |

Ok, Thanks.
I'll look into that one. It's nice and close too I know the 200tdi is built to last, arethe gearboxs built similarly? Cause the clutch normally is replaced every 60-70000 miles if used for towing or heavy work, I assume the gearbox and engine will be going strong way after the chassic has rusted away. Haha Thanks for your help, and I'll let you know what happens with the Defender just got to pursuade the parents now. Wish me luck Max |
