Huddersfield and beyond drive and brunch. UPDATE just giving
I'm hoping to get permission to do a drive through a private forest on unsurfaced tracks followed by brunch at a working farm.
The forest drive would be approximately 2 miles. The tracks are non damaging but take in some great views and would give some great photo opportunities.
I'm going to propose each vehicle pays a minimum £5 to a charity collection (air ambulance or similar).
Brunch would follow the forest drive and again the views from the farm are breathtaking with seating available outside looking over the Holme Valley.
A full English breakfast is approx £8 and these would have to be pre ordered.
This event would be limited to 20 people as the dining area only seats this amount of people.
If you enjoy what you eat on the day then the farm shop will be open.

Date TBA and I still need forestry permission.

Hi Jeremy,
Barbara says YES dependent on the date.

Money to Yorkshire Air Ambulance? Yes Thumbs Up

How about setting up a Just Giving page so that the "driving fees" can be donated with the assistance of gift aid tax relief.

If Barbara and I could not make the date we would be willing to find a few pennies down the back of the sofa to throw into the Just Giving bucket.

Thank you all for expressing an interest in this event.
I have spoken with the owner of the forest today and whilst he hasn't said no, he is slightly reluctant due to uninvited 4 x 4 owners breaking locks to gain access to the forest and buildings in the past.
I fully understand his concerns but I have explained to him the type of people we / you are and we would be acting in a responsible manner with no off piste driving from the set route.
He has asked me to email him with times and proposed date. I have informed him this event would also be a charity fund raiser.
I'm suggesting a date of Sunday June 11th.

I'll keep you posted.

Good news today. I have received confirmation that the owner of the forest has very kindly agreed to open up for us.

Sunday June 11th
10:00 Meet at land opposite the Algy Arms HD9 1RS
10:15 Drive through forest
11:00 Brunch

To keep things simple I will be pre ordering breakfast for everyone and will detail what is included nearer the time.
I'll set up a donation page for the air ambulance and the minimum amount will be set at £5 per vehicle which does not include breakfast.

It is very kind of the land owners to open up for us on a Sunday and would ask that we all respect his property and keep to the defined route with no off piste driving.

Could you now please let me know if you are a definite as numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people.

I seriously hope that I never have to be a 'customer' of air ambulance service but am very glad that it is there.
