Paddocks HMG synthetic paint Anyone hand painted / roller?
hello

I've used the above in limestone for my series III wheels, easy to brush on and looks good.

My plan is to re paint the car using the same paint in marine blue...

On a Facebook page a few people saying it's basically not very good paint.

I've never painted a car...my plan was to roller and hand brush. Has anyone else used this paint with good results.

My option is to use the paint man but the Paint they sell sounds the same?

Thanks

Never used the stuff and there is very little info as to what it is..

Personally I've always sprayed my cars as the finish is way better, even with a cheap spray kit, like an HVLP or even an airless sprayer.... but HVLP is a much better system.

The biggest headache is drying time... most hand brush paints are 2-3 hour touch dry... that's plenty of time for the local insect population to do a suicide run on your paint finish Evil or Very Mad and immortalise themselves Big Cry RRC 2.4 TD... it's either a stretched 90 or shrunken 110!!

^ Problem is I've never sprayed.... only wheels... and my sankey trailer...

What kit would you recommend to spray? as I would need a compressor / air gun etc?

Thanks

Something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silverline-HVLP-...xyHIlTYhzi

There are a lot of spares for them, but I'd do a search cos there could be a better bargain out there!! And before you spray the car paint something that doesn't matter, like the dustbin !! and don't try and throw on heavy wet coats of paint, it'll end up sagging / running... with a little practice you'll get the sweet spot !

And get a gallon / 5lts of standard thinners / gun wash for cleaning... some places sell std thinners for less than gun wash, but they'll do the same job Wink RRC 2.4 TD... it's either a stretched 90 or shrunken 110!!
