Rusted Doors
What is the best/cheapest way to fix doors that are rusted at the bottom?

For the most part, they are in great shape. However, I am worried about further rusting and am trying to decide whether I need brand new doors or whether there is an easier and cheaper fix...

You can buy repair sections, I think YRM do them.

YRM make various repair sections as well as other small parts for Land Rovers. Do a Google search and you will find them.

I ended up going for complete new doors from http://www.sp-4x4.com/category_s/242.htm and took the galvanised option with a zinc plated steel skin. Not cheap but great quality.

My doors were not good at the bottom, 2003. I didn't want to remove them to have a new section fitted so opted for a repair which should give me a few more years. I drilled out the pop rivets that hold the rubber seal to the bottom of the door and painted the door bottom with silver rust preventative POR15 paint from frosts and sprayed the internal section with Dintrol 3125HS. I fitted a new rubber seal. For the plastic sheet I bought some heavy duty sheet from screwfix. I still need to find an alternative for the silly self adhesive foam blocks at a decent price. Some of the fixings on the door card broke, the yellow plastic that hold the Xmas tree fittings. I used 6x3/8 stainless tappers which worked a treat. I got these from Kays via ebay. A 3mm pilot hole worked well.
