I looked into this a few weeks ago and having contacted them and sat there playing with the LEZ checker, I came to the conclusion LEZ didn't currently apply to any Defender models. In January 2012, things are stepping up a gear. At this point, LEZ applys to all models with the exception of station wagon derivatives. £100 a day or part thereof

I've only just found it but I can't do anything until the end of next week, & don't want to risk putting a deposit down on it It will surely sell before then From what you say Martyn it looks as though a bit more investigation is needed |

Assuming its a dealer, deposits are refundable by law. just give them 200 quid.

Yer, it's all to do with the size of the soot particles which come from the exhaust system. Of course, you could fit a filter and that would then make you non-quaifying. I think these are a few £k though! I go into London a fair bit but thought I'd just check AFTER I've ordered it. Never mind, just means mates will have to drive more!

If station wagon derivatives are exempt, then a USW should be okay. Its a bloody stupid rule though, really a Defender is a Defender is a Defender, what difference do windows make to pollution? Bloody bureaucrats! 2011 110 USW

Well it doesn't matter so much now, my deal has fallen through - bloody time wasters
I was all set to keep my Jag but then somebody offered the asking but backed out after 2 weeks messing about, (he wasn't serious in the first palce just retired and bored!) Another one like mine has just sold for 27K through Chelsea Cars so I am spot on the price and it wasn't as nice as mine apparently. Happy to keep the Jag but could really do with a Puma..... |
