Nope, wasn't aimed at you Caterham, I don't think we've ever met Smile

And i'm sure lots of people would and could, pretty much throw a lot of how I drive
back in my face, I brake late accelerate hard corner fast overtake when to be fair
it doesn't really gain much and I get irritable when 'stuck' behind people who don't
wish to go as fast as I do.

Which is why i'll likely have a seizure or heart attack long before my time is due.


That said I do indicate, I don't cut people up etc, I'd just rather be where i'm going
for the extra 15 mins than growing a beard in my car.

Unsurprisingly In town people have the same effect on me, meandering around aimlessly
like they really don't have anything to do except push a trolly round Tesco for 3 hours, stopping
to chat in shop doorways walking 4 wide along pavements expecting everyone else to move...

Basically I just think i'm anti social and should really just stay home and order everything online Rolling Eyes

Off to collect a few tons of Soil, So.... I'll be the T(*&^%R in the Landrover with a trailer holding everyone up. 3 Landrovers

was thinking about you the other day as I approached an island - measured it and it was slightly less than half a mile Thumbs Up

Just a note - there defenders are full of surprises - I was expecting the orange low fuel warning light to come on by 490 miles but it didn't come on till 493 miles. anyhow I think that's the 3rd consecutive tank of fuel to exceed 500 miles Thumbs Up Mr. Green

just having a clear out and thought I'd bin a load of old fuel receipts which got me thinking.....what's my average miles per tank?

based on the 48 receipts I had it was 483 miles per tank.....so even my average is close to 500 miles. Can't imagine what you guys are doing to only get in the 300's ?

I can't imagine your driving to be anything approaching enjoyable either, embarrassing must be close though Laughing

I'm in the south of France at the minute and came straight down the autoroute, door to door just under 1000 miles and although I didn't really take much notice and was never an empty to brim fill up but I reckon I was around 300 odd per tank at an average of around 60 mph.

Crying or Very sad a sobering thought is the fact that I've put about £14K+ of fuel in my def since I've had it.....but then it could have been much higher if I were doing the sort of mpg some of you get so once again happy days. Thumbs Up

After what we could call mostly leisurely driving the lanes and the odd B road commuting to city crawling about on event support. So far i'm on 250ish and just on the half tank mark. I'm 99% sure the gauge isn't linear so I doubt 500 is possible but IMHO according to most this is fairly good for a 2.2 110. The local farmer is reportedly doing about 16 to the gallon on his 2015 double cab.

Ohh I might like to add this is country driving where we have hills unlike those flatlanders up north. Wink

Caterham my apologises the tank on a 110 is only 15 litres bigger than a 90 not 20 litres as I thought Shocked So having reread this thread I followed the theory of not driving above 2000rpm and what a difference an extra 2.4mpg so gained 24 miles on my last fill up having put in 45 litres on this last fill. So having now achieved 31.75 mpg with a 60 litre tank if I had a 75 litre tank like yours I too could achieve the magical 500 miles plus per tank.
The last tank full of fuel was used up driving Cornish A and B roads as well as pottering about the Cornish lanes. I always have used Millers power ecomax fuel additive but by keeping below the 2000rpm really has made a difference. 2015 HT XS 90
