You have the same sealey ratchet I do then, i agree that the detent spring is not the strongest but otherwise its a lovely little thing, mine gets some fairly strenuous exercise on a set of nut spinners and will easily shear a 4mm wood screw if you can get enough pressure on it.

Thinking about the wera porn posted earlier i love that it is a kit in a self contained pack but I have all and more of the components in stores just not wera and not boxed so I am inclined to put it together myself, possibly with some more vintage elements to complement the rest of the edc. Hmmm itch itch itch, scratch scratch scratch! Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Whether it be for work in the shop, going shopping, tinkering on the landy and general day to day use my Leatherman Sidekick get's picked up in the morning before my keys and mobile phone. A bit cliché but I would be a little lost without it on my hip or in my pocket. It hasn't had an easy life from either being dropped and it has been run over once too and still works fine. Thumbs Up

I'm much the same except my tool of choice is an original Leatherman PST that I've had for over twenty years. It's slim and inconspicuous on my belt in the office. For more casual use, I also have a Leatherman Charge, which is superb but more bulky. Rarely does a day go by without needing them for something or other. Darren

Have to say I am very impressed with my leatherman squirt, sharp as a razor but so compact I don't notice it on my keys, in fact my brass ferguson emblem is more noticeable than the squirt. One thing against it though is that the super hard wearing blue anodized coating on the scales isn't, not in a pocket full of coin, keys and chain, but hey it adds character. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I'm a fan of the SOG CrossCut on my keyring - always using it and has stood up to the tests of time, and a larger SOG Paratoolfor the belt.l

I just got my first Leatherman a few days ago, The Wave+.
An absolute bargain too. I got it from Go Outdoors... I found it cheaper on a another site, they match and then take off another 10% - In the end it only cost £80.96 (RRP £119.00)
WELL CHUFFED!!

I've carried a Victorinox Swiss Army knife since about the age of 11 as my EDC, and it gets used several times each day so I can't imagine not having it now!

However, I bought a Leatherman Wingman a couple of years back as a possible upgrade to the Victorinox, but have had a nightmare with security guards or police during searches (trying to get into places like the O2 during a bag search period means certain things get confiscated and you have to justify why you're carrying them, etc). I got sick of it, so the Leatherman stays at home now.

That's a shame, but I doubt I would need to take the leatherman to the 'movies'.. (id still have my Victorinox)

But taking it to work, camping etc ill be fine im sure...
Talking about bag searches, I have been to the theatre a couple of times (keeping the wife happy) and all they have done is literally just poke an eye in my bag... I have never had anyone route through my bags other than the airport.. Regards

I work near the O2 Arena, and regularly pop in at lunchtime or to Starbucks or whatnot. Sometimes they have the security scanners up with the guards doing bagsearches via the airport-style x-ray scanners, so the Victorinox gets confiscated by them until I'm ready to leave.

Also some London pubs have required a security pat-down before being allowed in in recent times.

Wow - fair enough..

Thanks to the yobo's, us law abiding citizens get targeted....

Some laws do make me laugh... they only effect the good guys, as the 'baddies' don't care if they break them...
IE - knife/gun laws.. Regards
