United Kingdom 2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Stornoway Grey
Terrafirma -1" Lowering springs
Hi everyone,

My HT I believe has HD springs, the ride is very hard and crashy for everyday use.

I've been looking at spring options and have decided to go a little lower at the same time, although not vital, ride is more important.

I liked the idea of ALIVE tuning's comfort spring and had just about convinced myself £300 was acceptable, then realised that was plus vat and delivery which makes them too expensive for me.

I've since found Terrafirma -1" springs quoted as being the same as standard in terms of stiffness, which means they should be softer than my HD springs.

Question is does anyone have any experience with this product, any reason why I should steer clear?

Thanks in advance

I have HD springs and I know what you mean as my 90 isn't heavy enough, i'm getting some std weighted +1" bearmach springs and pedders shocks from gwyn lewis 4x4, as they recommended that combination for and 80% road 20% offroad setup 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

I have just had -1 inch springs fitted to mine, they were just Brit-part. http://www.paddockspares.com/land-rover-pe...rings.html

mine were there to get in the garage better which it does. Will comment on comfort once driven and let you know. Become very busy the last few days with 5 day old daughter!

Yes, my only criticism is some items don't have prices on their website, but phone them and they know what's what!

Another option .....I run LR range rover police spec springs on the back of our 90, makes a big difference in terms of ride quality....cheap too but you do need a rear antiroll bar to avoid excess body roll. Picture below to give you and idea of the height.

Driven up to work today and drives well. Been a while since I drove her but seems a little better planted, slightly less body roll. But that might be all the other mods to the truck now being a soft top roll cage etc!
