Well, have just driven the car back from CSK following the "Mild remap", it was like a different vehicle. The initial kangarooing is gone ,the throttle is a lot more responsive and the whole vehicle is even more a pleasure to drive.
Whilst visiting Chris undertook an Extreme Dinatrol and Waxoyl treatment , most impressed looks like it will last for years. Also fitted was a Nakatanenga Wheel Carrier in powder coated Black. Really thought this was a quality piece of equipment and liked the fact that it did not require holes drilled in the bodywork. In all an excellent trip and would thoroughly recommend. I'm tempted by the wheel carrier....but have a question - what's the likelihood of the paintwork on the rear door being marked by the original carrier and visible once removed?
Was yours unmarked Brian? 110 DCPU Mark |

Hello
There are no marks at all that I can see.It was a very neat job and the face plate utilises the existing location points 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue 1967 Morris Traveller 1966 Morris Convertible 2012 VW T5 Camper Quod Abundat Non Obstat. |

Do you know if the backing of the original carrier has a rubber backing of anything? If not you'd think it would cut into the paint of the door?
The plate which attaches to the door as part of the Nakatanenga carrier is smaller than the original carrier so marks caused by the original would be visible. 110 DCPU Mark |

Hello Mark
This is not your day. I threw the old carrier away and cannot remember if it had rubber backing or not. The van is on loan to the kids for a week or so , therefore, I cannot answer that either. Will have a look when it comes back. Brian 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue 1967 Morris Traveller 1966 Morris Convertible 2012 VW T5 Camper Quod Abundat Non Obstat. |

That's no problem...I'll take a look at mine before ordering just to make sure I'm not exposing scratches by removing it.

The standard rear door wheel carrier does not have a rubber gasket.
The rear door is painted and the paint goes off/hardens/sets and the same applies to the wheel carrier before the two are put together. Basically you are bolting two large flat painted surfaces together. The bolt heads might cause some minor damage to the paintwork off the wheel carrier. The chances of damage to the rear door is minimal I have not noticed any damage to the paintwork of the rear door when I have fitted them. Brendan |

Thanks Brendan...just what I was hoping to hear.
I'm on my way to Bowler in the morning to pick up my new wheels and some other bits - if you were a little closer I'd call in on you at the same time but the extra miles are just a few too many 110 DCPU Mark |
