12V/ 17.5v output solar battery charger from ALDI
Just picked up a 12V solar battery charger from ALDI looks good and a good size L498mm, W345mm, D17mm it is also waterproof, voltage 17.5v max. Looked at comparable ones at MAPLIN and Amazon and they are nearly twice the price.

Just had a voltmeter attached to the feed wires from the ALDI Solar Panel, the panel is just resting on top of the cubby box inside the Defender, and the voltmeter registered 11.5 volts on what is a really dull day here, hopefully this will now maintain my battery when the Defender is not in use. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I've just read the reviews and it seems there is some important technical information missing.
Does it have a circuit to stop it from draining the battery?

The instruction sheet provided with the unit is pretty basic, but it does state clearly that ‘leaving the unit plugged in overnight or for long periods will not drain the battery’ For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
