Thieving s*ds. Mine are pop riveted on so they must have damaged it when they pried it off.
Bluest said in a previous thread ,"Rusty XS side steps" that they are available on eBay, but unfortunately didn't give a link. Hope you find one. Looking on the brighter side, now would be a good time to waxoyl/diitrol the insides. |

I might be binning my rusty ones in a few months, once i've decided what to replace them with. They just don't seem to stick out far enough to make good steps.

End Caps Plastic Blanking Plugs 76mm on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/76mm-10pcs-Round...rkt%3D1%26 Or you could buy from MOCAP using their sample range otherwise you have to buy min of 5 not sure if the end plug is 2-3mm or 3-4mm but ask for both samples https://store.mocap.co.uk/mocap_uk/rnm.htm...1491312317 http://www.mocap.co.uk/samples.html#Uk43Nk...N8fHx8fA__ As far as I recall samples are free so you could get one for nowt ![]() ![]() http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Woah! Don't be giving money to EvilBay unnecessarilly!
I've got one left over you can have if you want. I don't think it is 100% identical in texture etc to an original, just in case you are entering a concourse, but it is the right size and a good tight fit, no need for the rivet. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I have an XS too - my end caps are 2 3/4 inch and I am looking for all four, so this is a good thread for me.
I did not think my side steps were too rusty until I took them off..... I stripped some paint, saw how bad it was and decided to get them shot blasted: ![]() If you have the time / inclination it might be a good route to go down before fitting new end caps? 2007 Defender 90 XS 2022 Defender D300 HSE X-Dynamic |

It's maybe also worthwhile getting some Dinitrol or similar down the insides of them too while there's still something left to protect.
My 2004 XS had them from the factory and they had rotted right through from inside all along the underneath, they were way beyond repair so I replaced them. |
