South Africa 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 Fire LE Vesuvius Orange
Missing link?
New in here - so Hi there to all the real Land Rover owners !

Just got myself a Defender again after 8 boring years with Discovery's

I bought my 90 Puma second hand and I am busy going through it to make sure there are no (big) surprises waiting. Haven' had a Defender since 2005 or so and while inspecting the underside I noticed a gap between the chassis and gearbox that seems to need some kind of rubber bush or something? There is a U-shaped mounting plate with a hole in it and it looks as if there is a hole with thread in the gearbox in line with it.

Is this one of those - "should be like that's"?

(I have a pic but don't know how to post it here - yet)

Welcome Thumbs Up

This has been discussed a few times on the forum - here is a recent topic.

It is normal and nothing to worry about.

PM90 i bet your "glad" to see that the world of defenders is still full of the many silly little things that any lessor car maker would just remove, i mean why remove a mount with a hole and a second mount also with a hole just because they dont meet and will never be used Confused

welcome aboard
