Today I am driving into a town with my wife. It rain heavy and the road is in bad circulation. Not fantastic to be here.
Then something happen that I never see in my life. Another Land Rover is passing on the opposite and the driver flash his H4 and wave to us. We smile at this response and also salut in return. After a short time another, this time an GB vehicle pass us and do the same very enthusiastic. Normally in one week I can see 1 or 3 Defender but like this was not common. My wife can not imagine the camaraderie and laugh much. I am impressed as I did not imagine this rule between Defender driver, perhaps in england but i never imagine in France! I wanted to share this with you. It was nice moment. Léo |

Does owning a Defender cut across national prejudices? Scariest drive I ever had was in a German hire car in Belgium!

A friend of me has a G4 Defender 110. When I told him I'm waiting for my ordered 2021 Defender he told me "Welcome to the club. Don't forget to wave when crossing other Defenders!" It remembers when I was driving the Citroën 2CV6 long long time ago 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)

I always wave at all the Defenders I see on the road in Europe. My favourite is on the Autoroute so you have plenty of warning and can coordinate waving and light flashing like a crazy ritual. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Very common in Germany
Although "flash and wave" could have other reasons. Once I crashed into a crow without noticing and its remains were stuck in the front grille (not with the Defender, though) |
