Did the Raptor version not tempt you? Ali plate bolts over the standard centre console (post 02) or bolts in similarly to yours.
Raptor'd it would look much better! |

I looked at the raptor and mud consoles, the raptor wont take the double din i have which is a reversing camera/satnav/dvd player for my 3 year old! Plus it was a little to wide, the mud one seemed to only fit a small double din at a push i did nearly buy one! I understand people getting both of them who have used it for extra switch and gauge space etc but i made mine to accept big head unit and boost gauge/clock as ive put a rev counter in the truck so made it only the size it needed to be,and its out of chequer plate as i have loads of it and easy to bend otherwise it would of been out of billet alloy, oh plus obviously it didnt cost me anything same as the other parts i made!

Yeah fair point! The 'Bowler' gear stick is beautiful though, really nice work. They look very uncomfortable though, whats it like to change gear and live with? Same with the vents.
I'm guessing you've got a pre '02 TD5? |

Cheers mate, yeah its a 2000 model, the gesrstick ive made to be a little further back for comfort as found was having to really reach over to change with the genuine one but that might be because i have the seat leant back plus i fitted a slickshift , going to weld up the rubber part of the vibration bit aswell as it will cut alot of movement when changing gear aslong as it doesnt make vibrations through the stick unbearable! , the handle i was going to make domed but when i tried it i liked it so left as is, was going to paint it hence its not polished up but like most jobs on it things take a back seat to do repairs on whats been a very bodged up truck making some repairs a pain!

That makes perfect sense then! The Raptor plate wouldn't have worked as you said, they do another plate for the post 02 models which I have waiting to be fitted....
Yeah it looks that way, when I swapped to a 110 and could move my seats back further I found I was reaching much further for the gear stick! I had to adjust it slightly to face me more, not so much of an issue anymore. The stick could look nice with a mix of black and stainless when painted/anodized. Like the seats too! BBS? |

Well i really wanted to change the full dash to post 02 but when reading up although odd ones have managed it sounded a pain in the ass and need the truck on the road, yeah when i chopped the old gearstick down i bent it back and towards me slightly, with the head unit been so big i had to make the new gearstick longer and further back still! Yeah there the badboy ones, wanted to put recaro in but was all to big, corbeau ones to expensive! So 300 quid wasnt bad, plus made them tilting so still got access
