Weird... A-Plan were really on the ball with my D1 with an absolute bundle of modifications.
Is your quote based on a limited mileage policy - that'll probably save something - mine was 5k miles per year which was fine for a toy. If not A-Plan, try Leena Marsh at Heritage - have heard good things about her team. Whatever you do, avoid Flux... |

Is that business use? And if so what sort of mileage do you do? Seeing as you're in my neck of the woods hopefully not much difference.. but that rather depends on the level of mods you have RRC 2.4 TD... it's either a stretched 90 or shrunken 110!!

I would give these a call, http://www.brentacre.co.uk/ they were great for insuring my Rover metro VVC, That car was done up as a street sleeper, They would cap the engine to a certain Horsepower, and would cover practically any cosmetic changes. They even mirror no claims too, so if you want a second car your laughing. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

NFU quoted me about double the current insurer (Geoffrey). Seemed to have a real problem with business use in a vehicle classified as a van (2015 110 SW).
For some reason, this year the van aspect became a problem. In the past, it was just insured as a car. |

A-Plan Thatcham quoted me happy. Maybe try Heritage? NFU and Adrian Flux were miles off for me. James

If your business use is shifting those posh thunder boxes like over on FFRR, forum. You are more than just business use. I used to have a policy for shifting stuff with trailers with Royal sun alliance. With many restrictions and requirements. This was around four years ago, that was £1650.00 per year. Trouble with a lot of these they want you to be a member of road haulage association or alike. Also on an article I heard on the radio this week it stated due to the new government compensation rules average premium will increase £75 per annum. Good luck and hopefully you get a good deal which covers you needs. |

Sorted it, went with Lancaster in the end as most insurance companies wouldn't give business use on an old RRC
All of them were quite happy to insure a modded car, just not for work, except NFU....Milton Keynes isn't rural enough for them RRC 2.4 TD... it's either a stretched 90 or shrunken 110!! ML 270CDI |

NFU were best for our DCPU this year (Class N1 commercial) with limited business use. However they seem completely incapable of handling/recording any modifications.
Tried to declare the following: Alloy Wheels with oversize mud tyres Spotlights Winch bumper and winch Snorkel R+T sliders Diff Guards and a few other minor changes What they have shown on the paperwork is: Alloy wheels Spotlights Wheelchair ramp/winch Other Also had the same issue with Peter Best who seemed to be almost defensive when we tried to list modifications and said he couldn't record any modifications on his computer.
