Well, I've finally accepted that I can't keep my Defender and move abroad so here we are. Here I have for sale my beloved Defender v8 station wagon, I hoped she was a keeper but with the cost of a ferry and the distance to my new life I cannot afford it.
In the time I've owned her I have done a lot, the most notable modification being the Rover v8 engine (24G so from a Defender originally). You can see the full details of the conversion here: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic48090.html I have replaced most of the ancillaries on the engine also. These include the plugs, leads, dizzy, coil and alternator. I also rebuilt the carburettors which made them much smoother. A refurbished gearbox was also fitted in September last year. The cosmetic modifications include a camel trophy bullbar with spotlights (wired to full beam) and a winch bumper. A raised air intake which isn't yet connected to the air box. It also isn't in any of the photos as I haven't taken any since fitting it. Rear mounted light guards are also fitted. I will however keep the roofrack as it was a custom build by Brownchurch and I'd like to get myself another Defender one day. This shouldn't bother you too much though as it easily shaves 5mpg off the average. I'm not referring to my misfire which must be famous at this point, which for anyone unaware was fixed. The door bottoms and footwells are rusty, not badly but it's there and noticeable. The rear crossmember looks a bit crap but it's all surface rust. The drivers seat a bit ripped. These aren't major issues though. As I said earlier I can't afford to bring it to my new life, nor will I be able to afford £150 a month on insurance with the new job so I need to sell her as soon as possible. I can't just give her away though just in case I get the opportunity to buy another Defender in the future. But there is a good home here to look after her and she would be with my tractor and my project 90 which are in my store and room for a 110  Clayton.

Haha I'm sure you're all keen on a bit of that v8 action. If I have to leave before it's sold it'll stay at my parents house until sold

A real shame Iggle piggle, over the past months I have been trying to work out a way to make it work but I just can't. The cost of a ferry plus the distance after the ferry will cost nearly a grand and then I'll have to continue paying the insurance and fuel expenses.  1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon
