I do like an orange defender, that looks fantastic.

This looks a great vehicle but in modifying it from original G4 spec the value has - in my mind - been lost. I'm all for modifying vehicles - don't think I own anything standard - but modifying a vehicle that has a unique history, unless you are planning to keep it for ever, seems odd to me. It may of course be that the owner did intend to keep it but circumstances have changed and now it has to be sold. However if that's the case I can't see why it should be worth this much...
But what do I know?! 110 UW - '15 2.2 90 - '85 V8 soft-top RRC - '84 5 door, Option Pack C, 33k miles from new --- Elise S1 - '00 Millennium SE Elan +2 - '68 kit built by my dad Panda 4x4 - '87 in Italy |

Totally agree with that ∆∆∆∆. Great mods on a stock vehicle but detracting from the value of an original G4. I'm curious as to how how the market will treat the genuine Heritage hardtops that have been turned into soft tops, will logic prevail?

It's a funny one isn't it - provenance.
I think there is a difference between a special edition that was available to purchase new and a Camel or G4 version produced for an event only and used in anger in some madly wild terrain. Not sure what that says about the values of the G4 vehicles built for the '09 live event (as opposed to the recce vehicles) that were never used! As always I suppose it comes down to market forces. 110 UW - '15 2.2 90 - '85 V8 soft-top RRC - '84 5 door, Option Pack C, 33k miles from new --- Elise S1 - '00 Millennium SE Elan +2 - '68 kit built by my dad Panda 4x4 - '87 in Italy |

Looks like it was a Thailand / Laos support vehicle. Can't find any specific pics but the one my wife drove there was ZBU.

I was in G4 Owners club at the time and ZBT was around. Sure I still have some pictures of it - sadly have only kept this one no defenders in it Click image to enlarge 2020 P300 HSE |

That G4 that's for sale isn't without a history though!
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge this was last year out on Salisbury plain. I was flagged down by a friend of the driver who was in a 90/hybrid thing. My 110 was roped to the hybrid to get enough traction, I then winched the 110 out. As i recall, the engine/ECU was flooded and it was dead as a dead thing. Think it was towed to Tillshead to wait for the big yellow taxi.
