I honestly think rugby is one of the few sports where everyone gets along and just enjoys the sport. It's quite refreshing

Fair play them lads in green played a better game, as a proud Englishman Ireland is the only domestic team I don't mind losing to, they play with a lot of heart.
That said, it didn't go all that bad for us in the end....... Oh woe, oh woe My crusty old landrover, It will not go. |

Agreed. A French wine co-operative took me to watch England v France at Twickenham years ago. Friendly banter, France won, everyone shook hands. Just hope it carres on now that the sport has become so popular. |

Likewise - we happened to be in France to watch the England - Wales match in the last World Cup and found a sports bar that would be showing the rugby, saying we'd be back later...
On arriving back at the bar, we found it to be wall-to-wall with French, a few Germans / Dutch and others but singularly lacking in les Anglaise... We were ushered to a table (reserved for us) with prime view of the biggest screen and proceeded to watch, cheer and shout at the TV as the game progressed - all the French were cheering for the Welsh, particularly when they won! |
