£12,500 ono

1989

204,000 miles

Rare genuine Land Rover One Ten County Station Wagon V8, professionally restored and tastefully modernised by respected specialists TJC Land Rovers in 2011 (main rebuild) and 2013 (interior), with further additions by Urban Truck since.

Please see my D2 build threads here:
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5066.html
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic24410.html

One of the last of the V8s, she was built the late model bodywork features such as one piece push button doors and smooth roof. She is fitted with the original matching numbers Rover 3500 V8 on SU's and LT85 5 speed gearbox

Fresh MOT until 13th February 2018. One advisory on worn rear disks and pads - these are on order and will be fitted before sale.

Extensive and fully documented restoration work included:

• New Marsland Galvanised chassis
• New Bulkhead (Waxoyled from new)
• 5 New doors
• Full respray inside and out in Bonatti Grey
• Rebuilt axles and wheel bearings
• New springs, de-carbon shocks and polybushes throughout
• New brakes - uprated vented front disks, and rear Salisbury axle converted to disks with Zeuss conversion kit, master cylinder and all new brake lines
• New steering box
• New fuel tank and fuel pump
• Swingaway spare wheel carrier
• Uprated heater matrix
• New Radiator
• Stainless exhaust system
• Sunroof deletion and new genuine LR full headlining
• New Windscreen
• Full new Exmoor Trim XS Half leather interior with heated front seats, high back rear seats, new rear benches and matching steel security cubby
• New soundproofing and carpets

More recent updates by Urban Truck include:

• JW Speaker LED headlamps (fully CE marked)
• 5 new 18 Inch Challenger Alloys on latest specification BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tyres (less than 1,000 miles, unused spare)
• Urban Truck Quad DRL Bumper
• Momo Steering Wheel

Spec also includes:

• JVC Bluetooth head unit with 4 speakers and Alpine active subwoofer
• Brodit iPhone6 powered dock
• Several layers of Thatcham approved security systems!
• V8 had top end rebuild with cam, followers and timing chain 2 years ago
• Mantec Rock Sliders
• Steering Guard

She comes with massive service history folder. During her first four years she worked for a living doing 100k miles as a chase vehicle for a Balloon company, and since then she has been pampered and well cared for by three private owners, including me for the past 10 years. She comes with a huge history file showing every receipt and MOT since 1994!

I green-laned her during my early years so she has proper rock sliders and steering guard, but has not been off road since the restoration (I know what the paintwork cost!). She has been used as family holiday transport (effortless and refined V8 is perfect for motorway cruising) and as a pampered weekend classic since the restoration, with regular no-expense spared maintenance by a well known Land Rover specialist.

The original factory spec Rover 3528cc V8 on SU carbs is smooth, strong and has been utterly reliable. Starts perfectly and does not smoke, and has had new:
• Head-gaskets
• Water pump
• Starter Motor
• Full top-end rebuild including cam, followers and timing chain 5,000 miles ago.

The bad bits:

She has done 204,000 miles, although in reality not much of her has done that mileage given the extent of restoration which took place at 187,000 miles with only 17,000 since.

The new doors fitted in 2011 have now begun the inevitable galvanic corrosion between the steel frames and alloy skin, which is an inherent design flaw. The frames are still solid so this could be sorted by reskinning, or if I was keeping her for a permanent solution I'd replace the doors with the fully galvanised steel versions that are now available.

This is a beautiful and well cared for classic Land Rover, well set for the next 28 years.

with the new addition, we're running on full capacity here. No room at the inn.

Seriously, if anybody is worried about this 110's mileage on the v8, even at this price, it's a fantastic base to put a fresh 3.9, 4.0, 4.2 or 4.6.
Or even an LS, I think it's 110 of the year.
