I understand that Boab will have 2 Oz tents on display at the NEC. Also apparently a range of Australian cookware as well

Warpig since you are in S Yorkshire please note we can show you any of the Oz tents in Halifax.

At the Driffield show we will have the full range of Oz tents displayed along with some of the new Jet Tents and some of the new Tagalong tents plus a couple of the Autohome/Maggiolina roof tents. Will you be spoilt for choice? Razz

Sounds good Thumbs Up

Ive been thinking of getting an Oztent for some time now, possibly the RV5, although I did learn about the new Jet Tent recently. I definately would like to see them both on display so I can decide between them.

Are you able to offer any general opinions on the two ranges? I would only be using it in the UK, for quick weekend trips to sleep two people. I know the selling feature of the oztent is its ease of erection Rolling Eyes , but is the Jet tent just as easy to erect with its external frame?

Perhaps I ought to come and visit you, or one of your shows. By the way, are there camping facilities at Driffield show?

Cheers Thumbs Up

Hi Warpig,
Yes there is camping available at the Driffield show, although people do comment on the standard of the facilities there.

I can not comment on the Jet tent yet as I have not got my hands on one yet. Currently they are in a container at sea. We will probably get our delivery early March. I am not sure if Boab will have one on display at the NEC but would imagine they will have a sample up. I have a lot of respect for Australian gear so would expect the Jet Tent to be good. I understand that the Jet Tent does take slightly longer then the Oztent to erect but still goes up fast.

For two people I would suggest either an RV3 or RV4 Oztent. We use an RV4 and a double airbed and put a Kakoda chair in and a 'bedside table'

In general terms an Oz tent is about 2 metres long and normally rides on roof. Dependent on vehicle and number of occupants it can ride inside. The Jet tent is 1.1 - 1.5m long so is much easier to pack inside a vehicle.

At the Driffield show we will also be showing Oz tents attached together, onto Foxwings, caravan etc Plus a couple of te Jet tents. Sounds like our stand will be more like a tent village! Rolling with laughter

Im hoping to make it on the Saturday, especially as Ive just found out the inlaws are over for the weekend Shocked Means I can escape on my own and look at some bloke stuff. Might not be in a position to purchase until late spring, but at least I can get a chance to see the oztents errected. Any King Kokoda Chairs on display by any chance?

Ill come and say hi Thumbs Up

Don't worry Barney we will not hold it against you. 'onest Guv! I saw that yesterday on my way into the stand. Must admit I am going to have to have a chat with them. Not my cup of tea but an interesting idea. Saw one in Denmark a few years ago don't think that one had all the chequer plate on it though

Today was a quieter day then yesterday.

Some people have never seen a roof tent before and think they are a great innovative idea. Then you tell them Autohomes have been made since 1958! Rolling with laughter Also the concept of the Oztent, what a great idea are they new?

Some of the motor homes are enormous and with a price tag to match.

Brendan, I can visit either Friday or Saturday, but im thinking of coming on Friday to avoid the weekend crowds. Do you expect Friday to be quieter than Saturday, or is it hard to guess?

This is the first time we have helped out at the NEC so can not say from personal experience.

However talking to various people it goes like this.

Tuesday busy with lots of people on complimentary tickets. Wednesday is quiet, Thursday slightly busier, building up to busiest day on Saturday. Sunday is quieter.

So choice between Friday and Saturday? Would suggest Friday if you want to talk to traders in a more relaxed way.
