As George said on the previous page, I am one of the organisers of the Kielder 4x4 Safari and would be happy to have a group of North East Defender2 members (or anybody else who fancies it) on one of the events. In case anybody doesn't know the Kielder 4x4 Safari is a guided run out onto the private trails in the Kielder Forest complex, this is not a hard core off road event more of a gentle drive on mainly gravel tracks around the forest but all in aid of a good cause and you get to see some fantastic scenery. All the proceeds from the events go to Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team. (Registered Charity 511313.) and we usually have one of the team Defenders out with us providing they aren't required to rescue somebody. On our last event of 2016, near the end of the day the team got a call and had to leave us, they actually had 2 callouts that day http://www.kielder4x4safari.co.uk/?p=2454 & http://www.kielder4x4safari.co.uk/?p=2457
There are a list of dates for 2017 here http://www.kielder4x4safari.co.uk/?post_type=product We are still awaiting confirmation from the January 15th event from the Forestry Commission. Some photos from 2016 are on this page http://www.kielder4x4safari.co.uk/?page_id=113 and we even had some drone footage from our December event. (It wasa Jeep club meeting, that's why there are so many of them ) Click image to enlarge Any questions just fire away Cheers Ian -------------------- 22MY Defender 110 D200 SE, Fuji White. Work? That is a four letter word that I banned from my vocabulary 14 years ago. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
