What size tyres are fitted to your 20 inch wheels?
What do you mean by 'feels like it's going to blow'? Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

20" rims, eeshk more rim than tyre on those bad boys...
Looking at your list you do not mention whether you have had an ECU remap. If you have not, this is your likely problem. All wind and no go... As in you have raised the boost pressure but not the fuelling to match. Also notice you do not mention an uprated intercooler, definitely worth the price for the extra performance it will add. If you were this direction (wales) you'd be welcome to plug it in to the nanocom. Stick a Help request up, I am sure there must be a dozen folks Yorkshire way with diagnostics equipment. |

Cheers for the reply lads, im unsure on tyres at the minute laid up after 8 injections in my back few days ago albeit rev counter n slickshift got fitted in the dark as was bored out of my skull! Well i did try boost at 14-15psi and no difference in the problem, slight higher boost gives a little more kick ,wanting to get a rechip asap but wanted to solve this problem first , ive an uprated intercooler all alloy think same size slightly thicker core, its really annoying me ,apart from headlight troubles grrrrr it runs nice!

I don't understand what you are trying to say. So I can't give any advise. Roel

Truck struggles to rev past 2500 rpm showing 10psi boost and 55mph, driving is fine if driven casualy but try putting foot to floor it sounds and vibrates like an engine was past its rev limit after 55 ish

When you switch the engine off do you get a sort of chirp noise as it stops? Ray

thankyou, the chirp could suggest the lower pulley rubber is degrading. I had this on mine which caused a bad vibration at higher revs and speeds Ray

When you say lower pulley rubber, would that be the tensioner? Ive just replaced the bearings on the other two runners and belt after the (other new belt) id had put on caused bearing to destroy itself, its in for its first mot from me owning it! Hoping they find some simple solutions ! The truck looked nice when i bought it turns out everything had been bodged and not in a long lasting way making somethings harder to sort out, cheers

The crank pulley has/is a rubber harmonic damper and the rubber on mine had deteriorated causing a big vibration at higher speeds. Give this a read on the disco 2 site.

If you put your foot down, does the turbo presure increase very quickly or not at all? Roel

Boost pressure does not have a specific setting for a set RPM it all depends on throttle position, load etc so you could be doing 50mph on a flat road and have 10 psi of boost or 50mph going uphill laden and have 18psi depending what the waste gate is set at.
What gearing does it have? If you have big wheels and tyres, and previous owner has fitted discovery gearing it might be too over geared. Cheers Will 2005 90 XS 1954 86'' Series 1 tilt 1968 88” 2A 200tdi 2002 110 Hardtop |
