So he means the 2020 Defender (let's call it the Vision) will be reliable? People won't have to go and buy stronger after-market parts if they go off road a lot? Vulnerable areas will be protected? That would be good for the Vision. Trouble is, the Vision will have some competition by then.

Looks like this promised Hyundai pick-up will also be a Vision-sized SUV:

I hope they will call it the "Vision" when it will come out. That way the "Defender" name keeps its legendary aura as being the last descendant of the real traditional Land Rovers. The new one, as capable as it probably will be, will by definition be a automated robotic assembled modern monocoque chassis. Won't see too many nuts 'n bolts on that one anymore.
Personally, I would not like them to use the Defender name for that.
