Rear right wing aux fuel tank
Frontrunner made one of 45 litre capacity.
Can you still get them or is there an equivalent product?

As far a I know - still available. They also have a water tank for the left rear sill.

The fuel tank does encroach somewhat on the circular rear jacking point in the x-member - so that the elongation from a hi lift jack or the older OEM LR jack does not engage fully - and you can bend the jacking point.

No such problem with the left sided water tank though.

blimey just looked at the price!! Shocked

surely a suitable sized food-quality tank would be (almost as) good, and a 1/10th of the price? Just need to fabricate some chassis brackets and a cross strap to hold it in place......

anyone down this - got links to suitable tanks? Looking online now.....
e.g. http://www.tanks-direct.co.uk/10-50_litre_...water_tank

need to measure up.....

NM, 90 or 110?

Our local manufacturer makes plastic wing tanks for a 90 and stainless or mild steel wing tanks for 110.

What range are you trying to achieve/fuel capacity.

Larger main tanks are also available.

Consider getting bottom of tank double skinned.

Brendan, how much for a 110 one? (ideally plastic as cheaper.....)

EDITED: want to use it as a water tank, not fuel, so don't need to plumb it to the main tanks.....

I have the Safari Equipment one supplied by Brendan. Excellent quality only let down by the instructions for fitting and an absolute swine to fit(linking up with the Main tank is a bi.ch!!). Get someone else to fit it if you can as in addition to the main through flow pipe drilling the main tank needs special care to make sure you don't get any swarf left in the tank to block the pump.

Once fitted though, the extra 45ltrs can save you a small fortune by not having to fill up at Motorway services. I can no do over 800miles between fill-ups.

On a separate note, does anyone know whether you can fit 255/85's or 285/75's on the rear if you have a rear wing tank fitted?

SMB we run 255/85/16 BFG M/T on our red 110 which basically has a 2" lift

No problem with the wing tank. However have noticed that if the tyres are full of mud and are on extension upwards there is some scoring of the tank paintwork. Have always assumed that the mud has taken the 33" tyre up to an effective 33++" tyre.

I'm told by the previous importer to Australia that regulatory issues prevent this product's import

NMB, am I getting a whiff of bull manure here?

Have just spoken to the directors at safari Equip. They do not know of any regulatory reason why their fuel tanks can not be imported into Australia.

Is it a case of lets find an excuse so we do not have to bring the full Front Runner into Australia?

Since the Front Runner range of fuel tanks are available in the UK and the rest of the EU I struggle to understand the regulatory reason why they are prohibited in Australia.
