I have them on my defender, and whilst like all AT's they do clag up, the sidewalls make a huge difference and will get you through pretty much most stuff. North Cumbria Search and Rescue - Team Leader

i have KO2s on several defenders, they perform better than the original ATs in mud and better than the MTs on wet rocks.
i have a set of KM2s on a 90 for Drive round days and they are great for my application, 1hr on road, 5-6 hrs off road, 1 hr on road back home. if its for a road vehicle ie <50 of time off road i would fit KO2s, if its for a vehicle that spends 50% or more of its time off road i would fit the KM2s Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

I have not got KO2s on mine, but I have driven muddy tracks with other vehicles that did have KO2s and their performance was noticeably worse than my Michelins (which have a much less aggressive looking tread)...

i have both new and old style bfg at
new ones are quiet on road slightly better on fuel and to me almost the same off road. ive tried them on the 130 pulse i run and 90 and a 110 and with various pressures suit all the landys. depending on how much mud and time off road would alter what i would recomend. |

Only the Latitudes in 7.50. They're nothing to look at, but seem to work very well for me. When I need the traction I let some air out but my comparison was done with aired down KO2s too. I've been to a pay and play with them and had no traction issues either. Lots of people with Insa Turbo Special Tracks failing hill climbs that I wasn't and I've not got any traction aids. I do put that down to the drivers being idiots though. |

I've run muds for quite a lot of miles, on both Defender and Disco 3s. They are fantastic in really wet, muddy conditions such as wet, claggy fields, but they're not the most well behaved on road. ATs are a much nicer drive - quieter and handle better, but clearly not up to muds when it gets sticky. So both a compromise - you've just got to figure out how much you'd actually need the mud performance...

Yeah those Latitude Cross tyres are really quite superb. Like you say nothing to look at (needs some white lettering IMO) but they have the best Euro stats of any AT tyre on the market, esp the fuel; Click image to enlarge |

I've not used them on a Defender, but ran 215/65x16 on a FL1 and thought they worked well. I remember at the time that Michelin specified them as 70%/30% on road/off road. (edit: 215 not 205) Last edited by apt100 on 21st Feb 2017 10:21pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Has anyone got any first hand experience of comparison between the Michelin Latitude cross and the BFG ATs in off-road conditions? Wildly different tread patterns and gut feeling is the ATs would perform much better off road, but would be interested to hear from anyone who's used both under comparable conditions...
