FAO Welsh owners - Differences between V5C and V5C(W)
Hi I'm just looking for someone with a welsh registration certificate to confirm something for me...

I'm buying a defender with a welsh V5C and the seller has given me a scanned copy of it. The first thing I wanted to check was the certificate serial number - on the standard UK version there is a code inside the circle at the front page, top right hand corner, so on my one it is a 9 digit code starting CD0..., printed across the centre of the circle, below "V5C" and above "6/14" but on the scanned copy there is the "V5C(W)" at the top and "8/14" at the bottom, but the serial number is not there, it's just blank.

Another small difference is that one my one, at section 2. [Z.1] there is the word "NONE" in relation to the previous registered keeper whereas the welsh on is blank.

On the UK version there is also one of those square scan code graphics immediately below the reg number at the top o the first page, but it's not there on the welsh version.

Are these differences normal for the welsh version?

I'm reasonable happy that it's genuine, but you never know these days!

Thanks. Current Steeds:

I've never noticed before but Just checked mine & the side in English has no serial number in the circle but the welsh does,
English side has no scan box but Welsh does
Mine has had previous keepers so not sure about your other question
The welsh for "none" is "dim" & I am sure I have seen that before on a V5 before

Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply.

It sounds like the pages are duplicated then? I've only been given scans of the sides with English writing in the boxes.

When I see the actual document I'll be a bit less confused! Current Steeds:
