Was there a small loom and that came with the HU? There should have been.
Male plug should plug in the back of your new HU. The other end should be a female ISO DIN socket. The male grey and brown plugs plug into this. (This is the LR's two plugs.) (Be sure to check that you use the right plugs corresponding to the socket. Primary power, ignition plug etc to the same and speaker connnetions to the same.) The loom section you have in the photo above needs to come off, leaving just the two male grey and brow plugs from the LR.[/s] KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Thanks Steve, this makes perfect sense.
So the short flying lead with the large ISO DIN female socket at one end is HU specific (Clarion in this case). Alas no lead was provide with the new Alpine HU I understand then that I require a short lead with the ISO DIN female plug at one end and an Alpine compatible plug at the other. I'll pop down to Halfords and see what they have in stock. I have seen something compatible on eBay but I'm an impatient so and so...... Fingers crossed. Thanks again Steve |

Cheers Mike - that's the blighter
If I hadn't been so trigger happy on eBay, I'd have used SWMBO's AP account to get it here pdq....... Still, I'm home alone on Saturday for once, so as long as it turns up on or before then, I'll be happy Sadly, amongst many other things, I'm looking forward to matching the ICE illumination with the Defender 'green' glow..... I must get out more |

No problem - lets you build up to the excitement!
(you could always AP it and cancel the other) Enjoy the matching colour glow (before it starts to get light) Mike |

Arrived, fitted and green
Must have been the easiest installation and set up I have ever experienced. The Clarion must have been a little bit tired as the sound is incomparable. I am very pleased. Thanks for your help folks Click image to enlarge |
