Any mechanics local to me in Herts? Need some work doing

Hi all

I'd normally give anything a go myself, but with a 3 month old plus a 2 year old toddler - surprisingly I don't have any time spare to get greasy.

My steering needs looking at as it's like steering the Titanic. I have a full set of new bushes for all possible parts (I think). I also have a secondhand steering box which my mate says was good in working and order with no leaks...

I also need a service of all the oils and lubes (I have them all in shed just not time to do myself)

Anybody local to me for a bit of cash-in-hand? My day/nights are between Hitchin and Shillington.

They are, yes. Would prefer even more local and somebody a bit smaller.

Not trying to be cheap, Bute oils rather help somebody local if i can. Plenty of good reputable garages about here, just wanted to try a different tack.

I am near Hitchin myself and use a place in Henlow. There is also a place near Luton at Tea green I think. Never used them but I pass and see loads of Landrovers in different states of repair or distress.. Looks like a small dedicated outfit.

There is also a garage near Bourn about Half an hour from Shillington that has a few outside most weeks.

There also seems to be a place on the other side of St. Ippollitts on the Codicote Road that always seems to have Land Rovers outside.
The garage in Henlow Camp behind the petrol station next to the Bird in Hand is very good, a local family business and they are more than familiar enough with Land Rovers to do the work you need doing.

Thanks all,

I think i'll give the Henlow garage a go - are you both talking about the same one? Behind the now knocked down garage just off the main roundabout?

I have used the Tea Green/Peters Green place before, just a

to get to (even though I actually only work a few villages over).

The St. Ippolyts place although always busy, stitched me up one time so I've vowed never to use him again.
