Not had my defender long and would like to know more about all the gears and things so was thinking of booking one.

Well worth the money.

My dealer gave me a free half day at LRE South West and it taught me a lot.

Since then I have done a number of adventure days with them and they are excellent and you always learn something new. The Experience half day/day is driving in LRE vehicles, the Adventure days are in your own vehicle and, in the South West, mostly on private land.

If you want to know how to drive your vehicle off road and understand about diff lock, low range etc. an Experience day will teach you a lot.

Have a look at my Exmoor galleries, the pictures were taken on adventure days. I would suggest an Experience day first, Adventure days assume that you understand the basic skills etc.

i think they are superb....... Cool

LRE @ Hontion (West Country) i think are the only ones that do Adventure Days, Exmoor or Clinton, Devon Estate.

My advice would be to book a level 1 - ie a full day. for the half day there is alot of information to take on board and you dont (i believe) get enough time to put it into practice to sufficiently improve/develop your experience/confidence.

you can then come back and do a Level 2. if you do a half day voucher you still need to do a level 1 (ie full day(with same voucher morning period) before you can do an advanced (level 2 ) day.

Better still come on a break to the SW and do it at Honiton! Cheers

I am doing a morning one that was offered free by Lookers Dealership. I would love to go to Eastnor but it is to far so Ashford will be the kiddie for me.

a half sessionfrom a dealer is different to a 'voucher' half day. my advice is if you already have the vehicle ask to do the whole session of road other wise it will be an hour on and hour off road. Cheers

Yep,, the freebie is the "prospect" drive, to sell you the vehicle,, not learn how to drive it as such

If you get the chance,, Eastnor is the place to go,, Thumbs Up California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Oh perhaps I won't go then, I have been on a few Defender off road trips and it's a long drive to Ashford - I don't need the vehicle selling to me I just need the DOSH! Laughing The stumbling block is now needing an extra room for the kids as I am looking at keeping my Jag, I am finding it hard to let go, so the Puma may have to wait until next year Big Cry Damn & blast house improvements Evil or Very Mad but the kids need seperate rooms...
