So, are you saying that your Dealer has said that something will be revealed about the "New" Defender, next week? If so, that is VERY interesting, because to date, NOTHING "official" has been released,.....just "myth & hearsay". I am "all ears"!!, Pickles. |

Next two car shows i believe is Chicago and geneva i think.
Pretty sure Chicago starts tomorrow and runs for a week and the Geneva show starts in March. Might be right. Cheers Andy |

Personally I think they will announce that they are going to licence out the last Defender for non-US/EU markets and cancel the replacement "new" defender project as non viable, instead offering a stripped out Freelander based box with a computer in it.

Well this does sound exciting! They have announced major models at Geneva in the past. So it does make sense. The press days at Geneva are just three weeks away, 1998 Tdi 90 SW,
2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MT´s, Recaro CS´s, anorak, wellingtons |

Not true. JLR CEO has already publicly stated: "Crucially, Speth confirmed in Paris that the new Defender would be based on the aluminium architecture of the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery, meaning it can share the all-aluminium body shop and final assembly procedures of these models. However, Speth also confirmed that the Defender’s structure would need “a lot of different elements” to deliver the extremes of strength and durability customers will expect of Land Rover’s most capable off-roader" Extract taken from: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars...ch-car-yet Instagram: l90andy 2006 Land Rover 90 TD5 CSW Silver Edition My 1984 Ninety: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56071.html - SOLD! I think there are some crossed wires here. JLR are rumoured to be announcing their new addition to the Range Rover family which will slot in between the Evoque and RR Sport, code named L560 and possibly named the Range Rover Velar. Defender 90XS SW

Range Rover Velar
Immediately nicknamed by one of my engineers as the Rangie Vulva - we don't employ them for their intelligence |
