An active sub is the cheapest way to make a big improvement and come as part of the audio upgrade from factory. Ray

6 1/2" fFocal upgrade will be a big help, but Ray is correct about an active sub. It will really fill in the sound, and is a pretty easy install.

Thanks guys. Is this simply a case of buying some and wiring in using existing wiring or is it more complicated?

Rca leads and the remote wire (usually blue) from the back of the stereo and a live from the battery and earth close to where the sub is mounted music sounds much more complete with a sub as the tiny speakers in a defender can't handle any bass Ray
