Looking at the ARB Frontier Long Range Fuel Tanks for the tdci years. Anyone fitted one? Looking for experiences with the product and if the install was as easy as they say...

Looks great, what capcity is it? I havnt seen one on a Defender, I went with this http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/shop/index.p...-door.html an extra 45 litres but they do do a 120 litre version. 1954 86" - makes any green lane seem as long as the trans american high way
2015 110 Utility - will have to go and travel the trans american highway |

120 litre made of some crazy indestructible plastic. Would be a REALLY nice addition, roughly 1500$

I am pretty sure the TR55 120 fuel tank is steel, not plastic. The new plastic tanks are only available for popular vehicles such as Toyotas etc. I doubt they would go to the expense of developing a rotary moulded tank for a vehicle no longer in production.
The profile of the fuel tank requires the anti sway bar to be dropped to accommodate the depth of the fuel tank. Long Range Automotive here in Australia have a similar capacity steel fuel tank which also requires a spacer to be fitted to the sway bar mount. I will probably purchase a LRA tank (around 130L) in the near future, but that is in the knowledge that rear clearance will be affected. Note! LRA and Long Ranger by ARB are different tanks. I have fitted LRA tanks to most of my 4x4's and never had a problem. Probably about the only ARB product I haven't purchased! |
