I recently acquired a high spec 90 XS HT which, like the Heritage you mention was bought, put under cover and then sold 10 months later after the owner decided he didn't like it, mine was built in the second week of January 2016 so one of the very last, it took me ages to find as I was after a non-molested high spec model. My reason for replying is that I had no desire to acquire a Heritage model but I had a couple of loose offers of such models with delivery mileage for around £35k...I also felt if pushed that I could have got the prices down but as I wasn't interested I didn't pursue it...their does some to be quite a few for sale out there and I might be wrong but I think a number of them were bought by non-LR folk who realised after a first drive that our beloved Defenders are a bit of an acquired taste!
Funnily enough throughout my search I got offered lots of delivery mileage 90 XS CSW, Heritage & Adventure models but what I actually wanted, a County XS HT proved to be in short supply...anyway, Ive found my dream Defender and Im keeping it forever. Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |

Seen the pic in your gallery,...very nice.
We have a 90 S.W...what you call an XS,..we only had one spec in Aussie, it was pretty close to XS, A/C, elec windows, sub woofer etc all standard...we optioned ours up with pretty much everything,...cold climate pack, side runners, driving lights alum crash plate, chequre plate etc etc, and I reckon we've got the only Keswick 90 with an Indus roof!! Hi Pickles...I think you're right, I've never seen an Indus Silver roof on a 90 XS in the UK never mind 'down under' and looking at your snaps, its lovely...I thought Toyota was king of the castle where you are?!?! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains

Toyota,..."King of the Castle"?..They are indeed mate, the Hi-Lux is Australia's top selling vehicle, and the Land Cruiser is pretty much the 4WD by which all others are judged. The Defender has a loyal following down here, but we're mainly enthusiasts, you hardly ever see one used for business, on farms etc,...pretty much all Hilux, Ranger, Navarra, Triton, and now we even have the Chinese "Great Wall"!

Pickles...thank you for flying the oval flag & if LR don't get their Defender replacement act together, we all might be driving a truck with a 'Great Wall' badge!!!!! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains

As you say pricing is interesting with dealers have them up in the low £40's
He knows what he paid for it & if list price I would suggest putting on piston heads at that price, alternative ring a couple of independant dealers who are selling defenders and the dealer you bought it off. In reality you would normally at least lose the vat if not a vat registered but still see healthy prices for them. GLWS 2020 P300 HSE |

In South Africa 🇿🇦 (Sandton in Johannesburg) some of these stickered for considerably more than the original selling price.

As a guide, last month I shelled out £34,750 + VAT for a Dec '15 90 hardtop Heritage with 1.5k miles on the clock. I then paid to have it converted to a soft-top.

I notice that it was relisted and that ended last night. It will be interesting to see if it goes back on again for a third attempt at the same price. |
