I have been looking at the twin Din box from FCX, it's functional and gives a place for my switches as well as the CB. Gives a level of security too.

In over 40 years of Defender ownership I have never bought a single luxury item - every mod has served a practical purpose.
All that is about to change since I reserved one ( an MY14 110) to do no work other than to sit lazily in our workshop garage and to try to look lazy and pretty (which is already a lot of work for a Defender) I was amazed to discover how little I knew about all the luxury mods when I started researching the various options, and it has been an impossible task to make up my mind - really hard work! Anyway, a new cubby box is one planned mod and of all the cubby boxes I have seen in other Defenders I really do think FCX has the best all round product taking price, quality and design into consideration and so I shall probably buy one just as soon as I am ready. ****CENSORED**** |

Thank you Rockjaw and everyone else for your kind words
likeomg - as asked via PM a couple of times, please send me pictures and we'll be sure to put right whatever the issue maybe.
The front two holes of the tray are identical to the cubby, however the rear two are different. Your Defender will have the correct rear position holes but they will have small vinyl circles stuck over them and wont have rivnuts fitted. |

This is the closest we've done to a Union Jack - we could do one in colour but we only work in leather and buy full hides so would need to know we'd be able to sell enough of them to make it viable |

the hinge has come loose, when you move it it rattles around, the screws have stripped the wood... and failed glue... Last edited by Likeomg on 13th Oct 2017 12:03pm. Edited 1 time in total |

They do sit a bit higher, and as a result, mine had been constantly taking out my left elbow for the past year and a half! I nearly took a lump hammer to the offending top front corner on one particularly bad occasion, but raising both the front seats by about 33mm has finally resolved the problem. Otherwise, it's been very good indeed, but I wish they'd sort out those sharp(ish) front corners on the steel part of the lid. |

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I'm looking to upgrade my cubby box, what happened to the lush ones with internal electrics etc. from FCX? Can't seem to find them any more and my birthday is coming up...!

I believe FCX have moved away from doing the leather work and Defender parts and on to new things. Sure there was a post from them a few month ago about it and something about big American old skool v8 trucks. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

I am looking to remove my box altogether and replace it with a centre seat, so the 3 front seats will make a narrow bed. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Will the bed be long enough though? Can't imagine it would be very comfy.
