No idea as to Relay location or even if it has one, it may just be switched.
Was it on or off depending on doors open? If so probably no Relay for time delay. If the lights are on after closing doors for a bit then went off there probably is. (If it becomes a major issue you can rewrite a basic on off interior light yourself using door switches for bit too much money at all using a basic Relay, or indeed fit a time delay type.) The little warning thing you talk of for the lights you should search eBay, pretty sure there are options there to hard wire one. I know exactly what you mean. Thing is steve, the interior light never worked at all. From the cars main battery system, Even when we put power to the fuse box area. When we put power directly to the backs for the little connectors on the interior light, It worked and the door switches worked too, So we know that system works long side the earth too. Seems that the main feed seems to be dead.
Looks like i may have to look behind the dash for this timer thing, Just in case its jammed, I may have a spare relay off my old metro fuse box. Which controlled Alarm and Interior light system ( i kept these for the fuses and the relays) The door switches are new, again another thing i robbed off my little metro. There's no relay, timer or otherwise, on a 300tdi Defender. Dorsetsmith posted the wiring diagram earlier in the thread, which shows the entire circuit.
You've just got a break in the feed somewhere that needs to be tracked down. It may just be as easy to run a new one. LandRoverAnorak, That's also another option I am looking into too, Just making up another wire and running it up there. My dads system is tapped into one of the switches, so I might just do that. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
