Personally, as a layman unless there is some reason why the standard filtration in inadequate I wouldn't change. I'd be worried about the the finer filter putting more stress on the fuel pump or restricting flow or something. That's unless you can find a technical expert to say it's fine to swap. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I did some homework on this a few months ago. From a few online sources I learned that all transit 2.4 /2.2 tdci filters are 2 microns (as it is common rail and uses very high fuel pressure) Whereas the di uses a 5 micron filter.
I fitted a genuine ford filter for the tdci - its a little bit longer than the rover branded version but in my view better. 1953 80" 1987 mini city e 2011 90" |
