110 CSW A/C Rebuild - info needed, please. | |
I have a LHD 1991 Defender 110 CSW, converted from V8 to 300Tdi, which has cured the steering defect (turn left at every filling station). I'm now doing a major refurbishment (ie get it working) of cabin creature comforts, like refurbished seats, heater and air conditioning unit. Please can somebody indicate which publications I need to refer to, to find answers to the following questions? I have the two workshop manuals, publication number SLR621ENWM, volumes 1 and 2, but they are not much help.
In Volume 2, Section 82, Air Conditioning, on page 21 figure ST1410M shows "item 12 - vacuum pipes from the water valve switch".
Question 1. Where are the details to be found that show the water valve switch, which seems to have been omitted when the engine transplant occurred, and how these vacuum lines should be connected, both to the switch and to the vacuum source?
Question 2. Where are details to be found for the operation and overhaul of the other heater and air conditioning controls?
In the right hand front wing of the vehicle there is an air intake to the heater / air conditioning equipment. In this air duct there is a mechanism for opening and closing a damper.
Question 3. Where can I find details of this item, and of how it should be installed and connected?
Question 4. This item appears to be vacuum operated. Where should vacuum hoses be connected (both ends of the hoses)?
Question 5. Where can I find Part Nos. for the heater and A/C components?
Many thanks for any guidance the "bigger brain" of the forum can provide.
Best regards,
Mike
