Hi, i have a leaking transfer case and have 2 specific questions:
1) How does one check the oil level on the Puma transfer case? 2) Would the transfer case have been removed during a clutch slave cylinder replacement? Thanks! www.ralton.co.za |

Thanks MK
I'll take a closer look on the weekend and see exactly where it's coming from. If it is the output shaft seals, how easy (expensive) is it to repair? (i'm just out of warranty). Cheers www.ralton.co.za |

It is a kind of DIY job. Basically you need to remove either propshaft (brake drum if rear) and the big nut attaching the flange to the output shaft. I would say half day job for a mechanic to change both. Seals are quite cheap and I suggest you use genuine ones.
Have a look to the workshop manual or surf for the "LT230Q transfer box overhaul manual". If you do not find it I could email it if you want. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |
